My internet connection was down for three days. First and second nights I let it pass just because I thought it is something temporary and I was not in the mood surfing the net anyways. The third night, I just got back from work aggravated so I turned on my laptop to surf the net so I could at least get my mind off of stuff. Then again, no connection. I finally called Cox Communication Services. And I HATE calling them because they put you on hold and you dont get to a representative that can help you as soon as you want it to be.
To my surprise, after a few minutes, an automated computer voice server helped me. She/it walked me through stuff like turning my modem off, clicking something on my wifi link sys, etc while she/it tracks it down on their computer. All I had to do the whole time was say "YES", "NO", and "CONTINUE" loudly on the phone so the computer could program it. Going through it, I felt stupid because I thought talking to a computer on the phone is not going to get me anywhere. But, I was completely wrong. The whole thing just took five minutes or so and it got my connection back running again. It was the coolest thing ever.
Eileen, welcome to the digital age. DUH! lol....
