I AM ME

!ding! dong! ding! dong! some reality check for us guys... more like an uplifter actually. Beautifully written poem with real good intentions. Love Et!

My Declaration of Self-Esteem

by Virginia Satir

In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me
Everything that comes out of me is authentically me
Because I alone chose it - I own everything about me
My body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions,
Whether they be to others or to myself - I own my fanatasies,
My dreams, my hopes, my fears - I own all my triumphs and
Successes, all my failures and mistakes Because I own all of
Me, I can become intimately acquainted with me - by so doing
I can love me and be friendly with me in all my parts - I know
There are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other
Aspects that I do not know - but as long as I am
Friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously
And hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles
And for ways to find out more about me - However I
Look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever
I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically
Me - If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought
And felt turn out to be unfitting, I can discard that which is
Unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that
Which I discarded - I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do
I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be
Productive to make sense and order out of the world of
People and things outside of me - I own me, and
therefore I can engineer me - I am me and

I AM OKAY

Question is are you okay?? hoping so! =)

Coffee: Not Just Addiction, it's a Lifestyle.

If you think about it, coffee really is an addiction during the earlier stages of your "caffeinated" life when all you think of is devouring it. I, myself had gone through that stage. I have had days when I find my self driving to a local Starbucks (most likely where the one i work at.. LOL) and get the strongest coffee I could have and drink it in an instant only to find myself wanting more. And this for the sake of drinking my coffee and have the day over with. This fetish probably also came with amountful sugar Starbucks add to there flavored lattes that's why my body keeps looking for more. It also got me through late night studies, or late night workouts or even through my whole day. But once you pass that "addiction" stage of it, the habit becomes a part of you, a lifestyle. Nowadays, (after almost 4 years of depending on coffee) i don't have that eagerness on wanting coffee like i did before. I just simply find my self grabbing for my favorite mug at home and start brewing me some coffee as part of my daily routine. It instantaneously became a part of my everyday life. I can't differentiate yet between my habits before to what I have become now. All I can really say is that I LOVE COFFEE???? hahahaha

Everytime I drink my cup of coffee though, I cannot get my mind off of thinking its pros and cons. So I did a little research about it which for the most part I already know of.

So here are the pros and cons... that ive heard and read about.
Pros:
+ Antioxidants
+ Good for cancer (specifically ovarian)
+ Controls Asthma
+ Lessens the risk of kidney stones.
+ among others...

Cons:
X Heartburn
X Addiction
X BP
X Ruins Circadian Rhythm
X Dehydration
X Dependence
X Cost????

ahhh.. whatever it is... i still love my coffee. I still maintain my control, although i still believe a coffee a day, shoos eileen's trouble away. =)

i WAS JUST iN A HORROR SCENE LAST NiGHT

LOL... but not literally. it somehow just felt like it. so here it goes...

so i was walking around campus at around 6:00pm which is already fairly dark for vegas this time of year. i got out of class and i still saw people walking around. i went to the bathroom for a while to pee pee like i religiously do every hour of my life. LOL. so when i got out of the bathroom, the eerie feeling began. all the people disappeared. i mean theres a few, but not the usual rush on a 6pm. but the thing is i had to go to the bookstore to return my book i purchased earlier (made copies of the book for 5 bucks and returned it right after to get my full 40 dollar refund..hahah smart eh??).

my classroom at that time to the bookstore was about a mile. lol.. exaggerating but you get the gist of it right?? and i was walking, cold, windy.... i felt alone and that someone was following or watching my every move. and the people i saw were the weird students, smoking in the corner, loners, those that dont give a damn about stuff around them. then the lights were fluttering like those effects in the movies, made it more scary. The scardy cat me... ran as fast as i could to somewhere in knew was safe. hahaha.. and get this.. i pulled out my cellphone from my purse and quickly dialed 911 so to get ready. so i got to the bookstore, returned my book, then i had to walk back to the parking lot. as soon as i got out of the bookstore, i saw the usual rush i see for 6pm. like everything went back to normal. what the heck was that? was it somekind of a prank. lol.. it was so surreal. its hard to get the picture of it just by reading this, but you have no idea how scared i was. damn it. next time im buying a pepperspray. hahah..

sigh... the point of this story??? is that..im bored as fuck. lol.

SOCiAL STATUS: MY LOVE LiFE.

In a span of a year and a half, i didnt know that i was gonna be shifting from one song to another this quickly.

A little over a year ago I was completely singing my heart out to Natasha Bedingfield's song "SiNGLE". It understood my feelings, its just like a song meant for me and my endeavor in the realm of love. The song goes out like this.....

Single
Ah yeah that's right
All you single people out there
This is for you

I'm not waitin' around for a man to save me
(Cos I'm happy where I am)
Don't depend on a guy to validate me
(No no)
I don't need to be anyone's baby
(Is that so hard to understand?)
No I don't need another half to make me whole

Make your move if you want doesn't mean I will or won't
I'm free to make my mind up you either got it or you don't

[Chorus:]
This is my current single status
My declaration of independence
There's no way I'm tradin' places
Right now a star's in the ascendant

I'm single
That's how I wanna be
I'm single
That's how I wanna be

Ah yeah Uh Huh that's right

Don't need to be on somebody's arm to look good
(I like who I am)
I'm not saying I don't wanna fall in love 'cos I would
I'm not gonna get hooked up just 'cos you say I should
(Can't romance on demand)
I'm gonna wait so I'm sorry if you misunderstood

Everything in it's right time everything in it's right place
I know I'll settle down one day
But 'til then I like it this way it's my way
Eh I like it this way

Make your move if you want doesn't mean I will or won't
I'm free to make my mind up you either got it or you don't
'Til then I'm single

This is my current single status
My declaration of independence
There's no way I'm tradin' places
Right now a star's in the ascendant

...however at this very moment, the mood quickly and surprisingly changed pace. I now find my self singing to yet another NB song called "Soulmate".

Soulmate

Incompatible, it don't matter though
'cos someone's bound to hear my cry
Speak out if you do
you're not easy to find

Is it possible Mr. Loveable
is already in my life?
right in front of me
or maybe you're in disguise

Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone

Here we are again, circles never end
how do I find the perfect fit
there's enough for everyone
but I'm still waiting in line

Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone

If there's a soulmate for everyone

Most relationships seem so transitory
They're all good but not the permanent one

Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone

Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
If there's a soulmate for everyone

HAHAH... crazyness right??? you tell me! or could it be hormones??

uggh.. i guess i'll patiently wait and figure things out for now. so indecisive and mood swingy me!

Novels i Read During Winter Break

In the span of a month and a half on my winter break for school, i managed to read four beautiful novels.
1.
The image “http://www.fictiondatabase.com/images02/sparks%20the%20choice.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Once again, a beautiful work from a beautiful author like Nicholas Sparks. A love story that revolves around a couple and choices they had to make to keep the relationship stronger and alive. How love taught them how to value life and protect life. It is such a powerful love story. Yes, a typical one, but Sparks still tends to add edges into his novel to not make it boring.

2.
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0452287898.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

A lovely written novel from a new comer Marisa De Los Santos. Though its about romance, it is not a romantic novel at all but shows us how true love triumph in midst of uncertainties and bad instances. A connection from total strangers and opposites ends into love made by events and people around them. Expect a movie coming soon about this book.

3.
http://www.filmpeek.net/images/ps-i-love-you1.jpg

This book has already been made into a movie. But believe me, like any other novels turned into movies, the books is far better and movies tend to create its own story opposed to what is written. P.S I Love You is once again from a new comer. A very unique story i think. A mixutre of comedy, romance, drama and tragedy. And excitement rolls in your stomach as you read through it.

4.
http://images.contentreserve.com/ImageType-100/0017-1/%7BCB31024E-6D1E-468B-AE00-21D80B0E05B8%7DImg100.jpg

Another Nicholas Sparks movie. So i obviously love the guy. LOL. The second time i read this book. This story is similar to any kind of dear john stories-war, girlfriends, letter, and break-ups. but there are other elements that added to this novel that made it unique on its own. Its heart warming at first then tears your heart minutes later. A rollercoaster ride of emotion.

well thats its. im really happy ive read that much book during my free times before i go back to school again. *sigh* now im back to those boring, heavy, glossy and expensive books they call school books. lol. but along the way im hoping to reading more books like these or maybe go out of my comfort zone a little and try other genres of novels. hmmm... who knows maybe the next one i'll read is something ive never heard off or read before. for now i'll keep my options open.

10 Things That Makes Me Happy..

Here are the list of random things that makes me happy:

1. Feeling that weird tingle up my spine when i hear my fave song on the radio/ipod/laptop.

2. Seeing an almost bird's eye view of las vegas at night.

3. Nightouts/movies/dinner with friends.

4. Reading a good book/novel at starbucks.

5. Friendly conversations.

6. Thrifty shopping.

7. Cuddling.

8. A new set if make up or kits {i.e. brushes, eyeshadows, lipstick, etc.}

9. Babies

10. Coloring books.

Looking Into...

At this early on i am already looking into a lot of stuff and possibilities for my future. I am overly excited about going into the real world, finishing my studies, getting the degrees in need and start teaching. I get chills just thinking about it. I felt like teaching is really meant for me. Its something when you see yourself in it enjoying it, and its another when you just dont find a spark with it. i mean, i already felt and experienced both. My earlier days in college i chosen to go for a field i thought i was gonna be happy with. It was a financially stable kind of profession. I dreaded every second of it though. there was a weird heavy feeling in my heart. Until two semesters ago when i decided that it wasnt for me and went for other possible realms of career i want to pursue. Ive always wanted to be a teacher, ive always liked kids and sharing knowledge with them. So then i moved to elementary education. it was a relief. I see such a huge difference from my personality back then to what i am now. for a change i felt a dagger pulled out of my chest. it is such a lovely feeling. and i couldnt be any happier and excited.

So now, im looking into my future. what/where/when/how should i make this happen. Until recent months ive been looking into teaching abroad. Korea caught my eye the most. For some reason, i could see my self teaching in korea like some kind of premonition. i dont wanna jinx anything but i would like for this to happen for real. right now i am just working hard to get my degree and some experiences and prove to everyone my worth of being a good educator. hope all goes well from here and i couldnt wait any longer. =)

2007/2008

Okay, being always fashionably late in real life, i might as well carry that trait on in this wonderful blogosphere and try to talk about the coming new year and my thoughts of the past year being already late of a topic as it is.

So i begin by rambling about how the year 2007 treated me. It scared me soo much how i eerily felt 2007 came by sooo quickly. It scared me even more when i heard people yap about the same experience too. I mean wow, i clearly remember what i did january 2007 like it was just yesterday. How i was celebrating 2007 new year and waking up to celebrate christmas already. it felt as if time was moving fast, that i needed to catch up with it or that i needed to savor every moment of it. i dont know, it really bugged me how last year went by so quick
Was it because i didnt have any significant moments that happened this year? or was it the opposite? that i did became so busy this year that i was preoccupied and cared nothing about the world outside of me? yeah i remember having full loads of classes and spending my time at some random place everyday of my life to study and ignored friends calls to hang out and how this was so unusual of me. i remembered spending less and less time at work to the point that ive not been getting my usual income. i remembered random guys ive spent intimate moments/converstations with and also exactly how each affair ended. and other nonsense stuff too. the point is, its not really any different from my past years. so even to these day, im still pondering to my self what made 2007 special to me? right now, i just cant get the gist of it. maybe sooner or later something will pop-up.

But i must move on the what 2008 has in store for me. i expect a lot from this year. mainly a lot of moving on, letting go, setting and breaking free as i embark on my journey outside of home. yes, i intend to move for the sole purpose of reaching my goals and also feeling the independence. This year, i also intend to finding a partner i can have conversations with, i can cuddle with, i can cry to aside from people right now who are in my comfort zones. i want someone new to rely my love on and that will care for me just the same. i deserve this for having sucha lonely 2007. i look forward to travelling more or getting in to roadtrips with random people i love. mainly, i know my life has already been arrange in terms of what i want for my life, my goals and future, but this year, i finally want to put the finishing touches to make it even more secure. in other words, i want to make these goals happen this year. i want to finally decide what i want for my life and my future and make up my mind on it. it is sucha hard decision but i know i can overcome this. hopefully, year 2008 will treat me well. we can only wish and pray for these things, but the real action takes place when we make that first critical step. and that is what im about to do, its just a matter of making the right one. but...

Good riddance to all of us. and God Bless. Have a safe and blessed 2007

hugs and kisses,
Eileenie

MY FiRST "A" ESSAY THiS SEMESTER

I just wanna share my first essay for this semester for my english literature class. I dont mean to brag but it is an "A-" essay and im very proud of it. lol. i justed wanted to share since i havent posted anything in ages. enjoy

TAKE ME HOME
Indeed, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. It is a big world out there that a moment to get to know, love and respect oneself is the first step to make it physically, emotionally and spiritually in this random world. We can compare our own quest of self discovering and fulfillment to Odysseus’ twenty years of journey away from home and loved ones. As we grow up, we experience the true meaning of life and it is not always easy and relaxing. Some parts of life are meant to be difficult and challenging to prepare us in greater tests ahead. In his adventure, Odysseus faced many ups and downs which made the heart of this epic. His story and our own journey and journeys to be begins with a choice: one that is usually difficult to make but is also the only ticket for the way home.
It was a painful decision for Odysseus to agree to lead the war in the city of Troy. He knew the consequences and suffering it will bring forth to his life and his family’s. Knowing it is the only way home to agree and get it over with, he finally decided to join with the mind set that he will succeed and return safely. During his voyages, he endured in a an exhausting trip: fighting in a ten year war, bumping into a giant hostile cyclops, being lost at sea, and held captive by sexual goddesses. He faced these tests with only one goal and that is returning safely home to his loving wife and son. With perseverance and help of some good friends he met along the way, he finally returns back home and meets his families and friends anew. Upon his return to his hometown he receives his real award for this long sojourn. Nothing can beat the feeling of being back home seeing familiar faces, meeting his son for the first time in twenty years, rekindling relationships with his faithful wife and feeling the warmth of good friends around. These are the real reward for a man of honor and it is something money cannot buy. This adventure made Odysseus the man he really is: brave, determined, loving and powerful.
Our own journey, we could say, is synonymous to his. Like Odysseus, we can accomplish the same outcome with the same perseverance and the same attitude he possessed. Our journey also starts with a significant decision and it is just a matter of making the right one. Do we want to take risks and endure painful path to achieve the success we want where everything will turn out okay in the end anyway? Or do we want to play it safe, not taking chances and live a bland life? A wise man like Odysseus would go for taking the risky adventure and face consequences. It is these hardships that makes up a strong-willed, determined and fulfilled human being. Success does not happen over night. One has to work hard for it and even challenge themselves to find the real meaning of their life’s conquest. After the wild adventure is where we find our true peace and serenity which makes us feel safe and at home. It will also make us feel powerful, knowledgeable, compassionate and accomplished.
Odysseus’ long battle away from home gave a deeper meaning to his life and personality. He faced whatever lies ahead of him, good or bad, just to get safely back home. With a knowledge of how harsh the battle he will go through away from home, he still chose to depart. More than benefiting himself, he knew it was going to benefit his beloved countrymen. It was that choice, of going to the war, that gave Odysseus the true essence of the word “success.” Our own journey is identical to his if we also posses the same attitude. We do not know what our future brings. Will it be dreadful or will it be pleasant? The necessary step is for us to determine and to make it happen. In that important step though, is where the decision making comes from. It is this brilliant step that will get us to the right path, make us see the randomness of the world and finally takes us safely home.

The teacher's note says : "not as polished as i would like it to be, but a very well thought out essay."

=) thanks for reading.

PRiM & PROPER

So tell me, is being modest out style now? Does people prefer the more provocative, bold and promiscuous way a lady caries herself? Please fill me in on this...

Whatever happened to the conservative ways? The prim and proper? The shy type but smart women of this society?

I am not being conceited, but I do believe that I act in a manner a proper lady should. Yeah, Ive had my naughty days, my childish days, my dorky days, but that is who I am. I laugh hysterically, but do not strut my boobs. I flirt with opposite sex, but in a shy and typical way. I am not the sexiest, nor the prettiest person in the whole wide world, so I can't and won't attract attention by stripping clothes off or showing skin.

My point is, everywhere I see: the cyberspace, work, the mall, TV, magazines, and school, I seldom see modest girls anymore. What's sad about this is that a lot of guys do fall for girls that shows sexiness in a fleshy way. Did they forget about the simple, smart and modest-that-can-be-attractive-and-sexy-ladies? So yeah, guys/boys what is your preference and why? I need to know these stuff so questions stops running in my mind. Thanks for your time.

And ladies,, please have some modesty!!!! I leave you with these words from a famous Irish author, Jonathan Swift, As blushing will sometimes make a whore pass for a virtuous woman, so modesty may make a fool seem a man of sense.” Peace out =)!!

MOBiLiZE ROBOTS

user posted image
TRANSFORMERS is out in theaters now. It is a freaking awesome movie. As what my brother just said, "That shit was dope men." LOL.

So we went and watched in theaters today. Me and my brother James headed on there an hour and a half early just because we know it was gonna be packed. Damn right it was!!!! Thank God we managed to get good seats still. People of all ages and all races came there and watched it. But of course, eye candies were the asians and the geeky looking people. LOL.

The best way to put the movie in words would be - three hours of awesome robot battles. Shia Lebouf never lost his charm. He is still cute as ever. Optimus Prime and Megatrons fight was the highlight of the movie, in my opinion. This is by far, the best movie ive seen in years. Michael Bay (also directed Armaggedon and Pearl Harbor) did a fantastic job with this movie.

Ya'll better watch it, "theres more to it than meets the eye". LOL

Act of Random Kindness

Act of Random Kindness- ARK
"Change the world by one act of random kindness at a time" - G (as in God)

Evan Almighty
is a must-see movie. It is a great family movie. Hollywood had not been able to produce a movie deserving to be called a "family movie" lately. This has been the first ever in ages, I think. Better and funnier than Bruce Almighty by a long shot. Steve Carrell has come a long way since the Newscaster character and The 40-year old Virgin. It brought along good messages and lessons for both young and mature audiences. And the message is that GOD rules us all and he has great plans for everything.

Hope you go see it too. It'll make your day. Thanks for reading.
Oh, dont forget to do your act of random kindness today.
God Bless!!

Big Kiss,
Eileenie

AUTOMATED CUSTOMER SERViCE

My internet connection was down for three days. First and second nights I let it pass just because I thought it is something temporary and I was not in the mood surfing the net anyways. The third night, I just got back from work aggravated so I turned on my laptop to surf the net so I could at least get my mind off of stuff. Then again, no connection. I finally called Cox Communication Services. And I HATE calling them because they put you on hold and you dont get to a representative that can help you as soon as you want it to be.
To my surprise, after a few minutes, an automated computer voice server helped me. She/it walked me through stuff like turning my modem off, clicking something on my wifi link sys, etc while she/it tracks it down on their computer. All I had to do the whole time was say "YES", "NO", and "CONTINUE" loudly on the phone so the computer could program it. Going through it, I felt stupid because I thought talking to a computer on the phone is not going to get me anywhere. But, I was completely wrong. The whole thing just took five minutes or so and it got my connection back running again. It was the coolest thing ever.

Eileen, welcome to the digital age. DUH! lol....

iM READY TO BE "EXTRAORDiNARY"

EXTRAORDiNARY by: Mandy Moore
I was a bay tree
Quiet and unseen
I lived in stories but inside I kept a mystery
I was a starling
Nobody’s darling
Flying in perfect circles
Desperate company

[Chorus]
And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready to be
Extraordinary

A midnight airplane
A window blowing
I know I am another sparkle in the sky
I shine on copper
Still undiscovered
But you must see me in the corner of your eye

[Chorus]
And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready to be
Extraordinary

Waking up to wake up some day
I am my own prey
Stopping off at a sidewalk cafe
The wind is playing up in the trees
Kicking up confetti leaves
Sings as if it’s all to say

[Chorus]
And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready to be
Extraordinary

And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready to be
Extraordinary

-This is my last song syndrome/fave song at the moment. I do want to be extraordinary sometime in my life. I want to oppose my usual boring, redundant, bland and plain life. I want to add a spice into it. The question is though, WHEN and HOW? until then, Im now back to my normal life. hehehehe

DESiDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

About two or so years ago, everytime I fall into sadness, confusion, arrogance and fear, I always find my self reading the "Desiderata" poem that is posted on our wall. It really gives me a sense of calmness in my mind every single time I read it. It keeps my feet on the ground and always reminds me of the good values and beliefs I have to follow in order to keep my sane. And I love love that feeling.

Lately, I was too preoccupied and busy and lazy to even read it anymore. I even forget we have it up there. If I would have remembered so, I would have handled those stress better and would have known how to calm myself. Now I came upon it again, and wow, what a spirit lifter this is. This makes me a good person in an instant. It is like a recharger. I love this feeling!!!

Hope, reading this will make you feel as good as how I feel. This is such a lovely poem for us to just ignore. Please take a time to read it and sink in to your soul and mind. Be cheerful and strive to be happy. =D

SUDOKU

This kind of game is really mind boggling. Fun. Challenging. Addictive.

Mechanics is as simple as: Filling the grids so that every column, every row, and every 3x3 boxes all contain numbers 1-9.

Ive been at it every night of my life now. Its really addicting, and I "thank" Jen&Jonas for getting me hooked on this game. This game is kinda like that game "snakes" on nokia cellphones that makes you dont want to stop and the minute you close your eyes, images of it are the only thing you see. And, it gives you headache that you cant complain about because you just cant stop!

When you do try to play it, please please do yourself a favor and start with the easy ones. You'll make your life easier. LOL.

Happy playing =D
